John V. Peters, B.A. economics from Grove City College, PA and short-time history masters student at Seattle University, was a budget analyst at Seattle Public Schools, and is a retired financial analyst from the Boeing Company.  He has been researching the Wapato John family history at Lake Chelan.  In this research, he came across the question of the status of the Moses allotments and found it a fascinating study.  This article presents his current conclusions.

court issues order for supplemental briefing

The U.S. District Court heard oral argument on January 10th regarding the United States’ Motion for Summary Judgement and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s Motion to Dismiss.

Participating in the hearing were counsel for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Tribal counsel, counsel for the Mill Bay Members and counsel for Wapato Heritage, LLC.

District Court Judge, Justin Quackenbush has ordered a supplemental brief to be submitted by all parties no later than January 21, 2013 regarding the trust status of the MA-8 property.
