Lowell Vaughn passed away peacefully in Auburn, Washington on January 16th, 2015. Lowell was the youngest in a family of 5 born in Wenatchee Washington February 3rd, 1930 to Stanley and Florence Vaughn.

Lowell was a graduate of the University of Washington in mechanical engineering. As a college student he met his wife to be, Betty Jeanne Sills, which resulted in a marriage of 63 years. He enjoyed a career of 41 years as a project equipment engineer for the Boeing Company. Lowell had a passion for the outdoors and invested many of his years in leadership positions for the scouting organization. In later years he went on to support the Lion’s organization and received the coveted Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for dedicated humanitarian services. Lowell and Betty enjoyed connecting with family but also engaged in many social relationships that brought them across the globe. Lowell’s favorite past time was to share a bowl of ice cream with family or friends and sing old ditties which he learned as a child.

Lowell was preceded in death by one grandchild and is survived by his wife, 4 children and 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled at Fairwood Community United Methodist Church on Sat., 1/24/15 at 11:30am, 15255 SE Fairwood Blvd., Renton WA 98058.

On June 29th Tom Fahy died suddenly from a heart attack while vacationing at Lake Chelan with family and friends. He was born in Amesburg, Mass. on 3/22/1949.  Tom and his wife Pat were married  for almost 42 years and lived in Bremerton for 40 of those years.  He will be remembered for his love for family including his wife Pat, son Mike and his wife Heidi, daughter Emily and her husband Chris and grandsons Caden, Owen, Jaxon, and Beckett.  He will also be remembered for his quick wit, love for everyone and his ability to “putter”. Tom loved camping at Mill Bay RV Resort and sharing his hand crafted micro brew with friends,neighbors, and fellow campers. There will be a service for Tom on July 11th at 11:00 am. It will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton (4215 Pine Rd NE). A celebration of his life will follow in the gathering hall.

Sadly we lost member Reid Kinne today, September 23, 2013.  Reid and his wife Linda have been members of Mill Bay Resort since 1985 and Reid served as our board treasurer for many years.

Reid Kinne’s services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at  1:30 p.m.  At Sunset Hills Memorial Park 1215 145th Place SE  Bellevue  425 -746-1400

It will be conducted by Reid’s nephew (a pastor), will be a roving mic for those that want to say some things, coffee, fruit, dessert.  Everybody is invited to attend.   Then next summer they will announce the date later they will have a celebration/memorial here at Mill Bay.

Linda and family again, thank all for their support, prayers and thoughts.

Dear Friends:
Phil peacefully died Sunday Afternoon.   Our Associate Pastor Joan was there playing hymns from her IPAD and I was holding his hand and telling him that I love him and many other words.  Pastor Joan said a comforting prayer after he passed on.
Phil’s Memorial Service will be this Friday, August 16,  at 11 A.M. in the chapel of
Velda Rose United Methodist Church

Mesa, AZ
(Northwest corner of 56th Street and Main Street)
There will be a luncheon after the service in Moore Hall that we want everyone to stay for so we can spend time with you sharing memories of Phil.

bathhouse now open

March 11, 2013

The water to the bathhouse on the regular side of the park was turned back on this last Saturday.  The campsites will be turned back on the first weekend of April (weather permitting).  Spring is in the air!

Peters, B.A. economics from Grove City College, PA and short-time history masters student at Seattle University, was a budget analyst at Seattle Public Schools, and is a retired financial analyst from the Boeing Company.  He has been researching the Wapato John family history at Lake Chelan.  In this research, he came across the question of the status of the Moses allotments and found it a fascinating study.  This article presents his current conclusions.

court issues order for supplemental briefing

The U.S. District Court heard oral argument on January 10th regarding the United States’ Motion for Summary Judgement and the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s Motion to Dismiss.

Participating in the hearing were counsel for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Tribal counsel, counsel for the Mill Bay Members and counsel for Wapato Heritage, LLC.

District Court Judge, Justin Quackenbush has ordered a supplemental brief to be submitted by all parties no later than January 21, 2013 regarding the trust status of the MA-8 property.

Members of Mill Bay Resort are encouraged to attend the upcoming court proceedings at the United States District Court for Eastern Washington.  The hearing will be held at  10:00 a.m.  on Thursday, January 10th at the Thomas S. Foley U.S. Courthouse, 920 West Riverside Ave in Spokane.

This hearing regards the U.S. Motion for Summary Judgement to eject the Mill Bay RV Association without further trial, from the Mill Bay property.  Justice Quackenbush will be asking questions from our attorneys as well as from the BIA.
